How to Submit Written Testimony to the Joint Committee on Ways and Means

Last week, more than 1,000 OSEA members emailed the Joint Committee on Ways and Means about what our schools need. Now, we need to keep this momentum going! You can make a big difference by submitting written testimony online before the hearing on Wednesday, May 3.

Here is how to submit your testimony:

Step 1 Click here to open the Oregon Legislature’s webpage for submitting written testimony.
Step 2 Some information on the page will be auto-filled: the committee, the meeting date and the bill you are submitting testimony for.

Step 3 You will need to fill in a short form which asks for your first and last name, email address and city of residence. Please note that all information you provide, except for your email address, will be on the public record. Do NOT use your work email when submitting testimony; you must use a personal email address.

Step 4 In the field for “On behalf of (if applicable),” type “OSEA.”

Step 5 Under “Position on the Measure,” check “neutral.”

Step 6 Under “Submit text or upload a PDF,” check “Text Testimony.”

Step 7 Copy and paste the text on this page into the box labeled “Submit testimony text below.”

Step 8 Click the “Submit Testimony” button at the bottom of the page.
